New, New, New

I hate highly dislike when bloggers don't blog forever and then they come back on the scene all "HEY, I'VE BEEN SUPER BUSY AND LIFE GOT IN THE WAY AND I WILL NOW WRITE EVERY SINGLE DAY."

Well, life didn't get in the way. Except that it did. I lost my job in the middle of last year and didn't find a new one until March 2010. A new job that I love. (Seriously. I'm not sucking up to anyone. None of my co-workers read this blog.)

Now, losing my job put me in a terrible, terrible place. I felt worthless and lost. Yeah, it was a really overdramatic reaction, but it was mine. It truly sucked. I'm much better now.

I also married my boyfriend, Cam. Yeah, he totally rocks. We had a wonderful, small wedding (as one guest put it, "the sweetest little wedding") and now I am trying to figure out life with him and his enormous house that I need to redo for my sanity and figure out my new(ish) job while continuing to do lots of extracurriculur activities. Phew!

So, the blog went on hiatus because I lost myself for a while. But now I'm BACK. This blog will be a little different than it was before because my husband (yeah, that is still so much fun to say) does not like me putting out too many personal details about our life. LIKE THE FACT THAT HE DOESN'T EVER MOVE THE CLOTHES FROM THE WASHER TO THE DRYER OR THE DRYER TO THE DRAWERS. There, I said it. I feel much better now.

A Different Bird will be more about Adventures in Atlanta and random crap I like. Because who doesn't want to read about that?

New header for Winter '09

So, one of the items on my 109 in 2009 list is to create seasonal headers for this blog. Well, Winter 2009 is almost over so I got cracking. While I'm not a huge fan of the new header (totally envisioned something else in my head), it'll do.

More than alive... doing really well

So, I have found that having two other blogs (A Cooking Bird and The 109 in 2009 - which I update nearly every day) takes away my desire to post regularly on this one, even though this is my online scrapbook, where I am trying to keep up with events so I remember them years from now. And A LOT has been going on. BUT (there's always a but) I'm really busy with work and just trying to enjoy as much time as possible with Cam, my family and friends, so A Different Bird is not getting as much love.

And in lieu of Valentine's Day photos (well, for the moment - maybe I'll get around to posting them after I finally download them), here is a photo of me and Cam from December last year.



We'd been dating a month at that point. And believe me, we still look that happy. Maybe even more so.

Post 99

So, long-time blog readers might remember my 100 things about me for my 100th post on my old blog. Somewhere a cricket chirps.

So, you might remember how completely narcisstic it was, but what you might not know is how much fun I had writing it. Seriously. It's very therapeutic to find out what makes me, well, me. So, I am about to reach my 100th post for this blog and I would like to know, would anyone like to know 100 more things? Especially if you go back and read the prior 100 things entry? Would that be too much for ya'?
